‘Bringing a T-Rex back to lift with a little bit of chatbot thinking’
At +rehab, we ran regular hack weeks to explore how new and emerging technologies could be used in creative ways.
For this one, we focused on chatbots—specifically, how they could be used in a more interesting and meaningful way. We wanted something we could apply AI and machine learning to, something we could learn from ourselves, use as a tool to educate clients, and ideally, pick up a bit of PR along the way.
We managed to do all of the above.
We had an idea: how could we turn a chatbot into a powerful learning tool?
The catch? We only had a week to build it. So we needed something that could demonstrate the power of the idea, but was simple(ish) to pull off.
Our solution: what if kids could ask a few questions* to something that died out over 65 million years ago?
Say hello to Tina the T-Rex.
*Yes, the first question was usually about poo.
This T-Rex was adopted by National Geographic and now calls their Facebook page home...
Correction… it did call it home… as they say history repeats. RIP Tina… I’ll never forget you… I’m not crying!
